DECORAH -- Rev up your engines, because the highly anticipated Decorah Cops and Rodders Car Show is back. Set against the backdrop of downtown Decorah on Water Street, this year's event promises a showcase of classic and custom vehicles for a local cause. Taking place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, the festivities kick off with registration. Opening at 8:00 a.m. and running until 11:00 a.m., car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to display their prized automobiles for a registration fee of $10.00 per car, while admission for the public is free of charge. The spirit of community and support for law enforcement characterizes this event, which coincides with the commencement of Police Week. Cops and Rodders stands as a tribute to fallen police officers, with 100% of the proceeds raised earmarked for the Decorah police canine program. In 2022, the event raised $4,400, and in 2023, that number rose to $4,600. Open to all vehicles, the car show will be an engaging experience for attendees of all ages. With trophies awarded for the 25 best of show, ladies choice, police choice and mayor's choice, there's ample opportunity for participants to earn well-deserved recognition for their automotive craftsmanship. The judging panel is comprised of independent judges, ensuring fairness in the selection process. Committee vehicles are excluded from consideration for trophies.
