Traffic Stop Turns into Pursuit, Arrest for Decorah Man

The following arrests and incident were reported by The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office and The Decorah Police Department on Tuesday, September 3. On August 30, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance occurring at a residence on 240th Street, Decorah, Iowa. Subsequently, DOMINIQUE DOBSON, 26, of Decorah, was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail for serious misdemeanor domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness, first offense. On September 1, the Decorah Police Department initiated a traffic stop and JACOB ERICKSON, 32, of Decorah, eluded law enforcement. A short time later, Erickson lost control of his vehicle, resulting in an accident. In addition to charges filed by the Decorah Police Department, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office charged Erickson with driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway and failure to maintain control. Erickson was transported to the Winneshiek County Jail. While incarcerated in the Winneshiek County Jail, Erickson was served with a failure to serve jail time warrant. On September 3, while incarcerated in the Winneshiek County Jail, JACOB ERICKSON, 32, of Decorah, was charged with simple misdemeanor violation of a no contact order.
