Meet Fall Elections Candidates at Local 'Meet & Greet'

DECORAH-- DecorahNews.com announced today that a fall elections candidate event will be held on October 9 in Decorah. The purpose of the 'Candidate Meet & Greet' is to provide the community an informal opportunity to meet with candidates in the local races. "We're excited to help connect the community with our candidates seeking office or running for re-election," said Lon Haenel, publisher of DecorahNews.com. "It is an exciting and important election cycle." The event is an after-business meet-up where attendees are able to speak with the candidates in a round-robin format. "Our goal is to bring in the community to meet the candidates up close and personally," Haenel said. The venue will be set up to encourage visitors to stop by and meet as many of the candidates as they wish. "Whether attendees visit one, two or all our fall candidate, it's really up to the individual," Haenel said. Haenel encourages visitors to think about the issues and bring along a few questions. "Your community members running for office work for all of us. That's exactly why we're hosting an event before early elections begin."
