Find Art on Your Driftless Drive: 27th Annual NE Iowa Artists' Studio Tour

DECORAH — Iowa's largest, longest running studio tour series will be celebrating its 27th year, with nine new artists joining many of last year's exhibitors. The tour begins on October 11 and runs through the 13. During these dates, 40 artists open their doors for a free, behind-the-scenes studio view across 32 locations, open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Many spaces are open to the general public exclusively during this annual event. Decorah is the central community from which the tour radiates, with tour locations found within 40 miles of the city. The Northeast Iowa Artists' Studio Tour was created to invite attendees into the rural area. There, they will discover wood and metal sculptors, painters, basket weavers, metalsmiths, woodcarvers, fiber artists, potters and more. Each artist's studio space and techniques are as individual as the artist. Experiencing their mastery firsthand is the foundation of the tour. In 2024, 17,000 brochures were distributed through area businesses, through artists' mailing lists, and at national art shows.
