Dog Runs Off After Highlandville Road Accident

On October 19, 2024 at 2:18 p.m., Vehicle one, driven by 40-year-old Megen Clark of Calmar, Iowa, was traveling eastbound on 380th St. when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Highlandville Rd. Meanwhile, vehicle two, driven by a 14-year-old female, was traveling northbound on Highlandville Rd. At this intersection, there is no stop sign present for northbound cars. Because of the failure to stop, the female driver struck Clark in the passenger side door. Both vehicles ended up in the north east ditch. As a result of the impact, Clark struck the stop sign on that corner, breaking the post off at the ground. At the time, Clark had three dogs in the vehicle. At the time of impact, one dog was ejected from the vehicle and ran off. Spring Grove Ambulance assisted at the scene and checked all parties involved. None were transported to the Emergency Room from the accident scene. Don's Towing took both vehicles. As a result of the accident, Clark was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
