Aase Haugen Welcomes New Co-Directors of Nursing

DECORAH — Aase Haugen Senior Services has welcomed Brooklyn Larson, RN, and Alicia Fink, RN, as co-directors of nursing. Larson serves as co-director of nursing and as the assisted living nurse. Along with nursing co-director duties, Fink also serves as an infection preventionist for the organization. Both earned their RN degree from Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC). Together, they bring more than 15 years of combined leadership experience to the nursing department. Larson brings more than six years of specific long-term care experience to her position. "I am pleased to be joining Aase Haugen, and I'm excited for the vision of leadership and the amazing opportunities we have to serve seniors in the area," says Larson. She and her fiancé live north of Decorah with their daughter and a little boy due this spring. Fink most recently served as an RN for a local hospice organization and brings nursing experience as a director of nursing for assisted living as well as experience in rehabilitation. "I've been in the Aase Haugen organization as a hospice nurse, and I've always been impressed with the care provided here and how well the team works together," says Fink. "I have confidence in the staff and look forward to continuing to provide quality care to seniors." Fink resides in Waukon with her significant other and three-year-old son. "Both Brooklyn and Alicia came to us with impressive resumes," says Rex Nelson, Aase Haugen director of operations/administrator.
