On February 26, SARAH GOC ONG, 22, of Waukon, Iowa was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on an arrest warrant for Domestic Abuse Assault, 1st Off Causing Bodily Injury On February 27, 2025, at approximately 02:04 p.m., a Winneshiek County deputy noticed a vehicle driving past him and recognized the male driver as having a barred driver's license and an active arrest warrant. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and witnessed the male driver and female passenger switching seats. During the investigation deputies smelled the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. The male, BENJAMIN SILVA-PINALES, 20, of Postville, Iowa had an active arrest warrant out of Bremer County, Iowa. Silva-Pinales was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County jail for Aggravated Misdemeanor Driving While Barred, Serious Misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana) and Simple Misdemeanor Interference with Official Acts. The female, PASIAN PEGGY ALAS, 18, of Tama, Iowa was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail for Serious Misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana) and Simple Misdemeanor Interference with Official Acts. The following arrest was reported by The Decorah Police Department on Wednesday, March 5. On February 27, 2025 at 5:01 p.m., the Decorah Police Department was dispatched to Wal-Mart to take a report of a theft that had just occurred. Upon arrival, Wal-Mart loss prevention had two subjects stopped inside the store connected to the complaint. Police learned that the two subjects had committed thefts of merchandise by failing to scan items at the self-checkout lanes on four different occasions between February 6 and February 27. On March 3, police summoned DAVID GINGADO, 18, of Decorah for 5th degree theft for unpaid merchandise valuing $121.34. The same day, police summoned TIMOTHY POLORONIS, 19, of Decorah for 5th degree theft for unpaid merchandise totaling $105.04. Unlock a world of knowledge!
