First Lutheran Church Welcomes all to Holy Week Services

DECORAH — First Lutheran Church will observe Holy Week through a variety of worship services that began with Palm Sunday the weekend of April 12–13 and will culminate on Easter Sunday, April 20. All worship times and livestream links can be found at firstlutherandecorah.org/lent-2025. A Maundy Thursday worship service and meal will be held Thursday, April 17, at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The service is a remembrance of Christ's last meal with his disciples. Though especially designed for children and their friends and families, all are invited. On Good Friday, April 18, a joint Lutheran worship service will be held at noon at First Lutheran Church. At 7 p.m. that evening, a special Good Friday cantata will be presented at Decorah Lutheran Church. The First Lutheran and Decorah Lutheran choirs will present "Behold the Darkness", which combines scriptural texts and musical reflections. On Saturday, April 19, the community is invited to a 7 p.m. Easter Vigil at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. On Easter Sunday, April 20, the First Lutheran congregation will gather at 9:30 a.m. in the Center for Faith and Life at Luther College. A livestream will be available at firstlutherandecorah.org/worship. The festive celebration will include a number of choral and instrumental musical offerings. All are welcome to sing with the First Lutheran Church choir. A brief rehearsal will be held at 8:30 a.m., immediately prior to the service, in the Center for Faith and Life.
