Decorah Native Returns to Serve NE Iowa with Financial Services

GARNAVILLO, Iowa — After more than half a century of dedicated service, local financial professional Lanny Kuehl is officially passing the torch to Kennedy Folkedahl, marking a significant transition for the New York Life office in Garnavillo. "This business has always been about relationships and making a lasting impact. That's why I plan to stay involved in the office—so I can serve the clients who've entrusted me over the years and continue finding fulfillment in the work that has defined my career," Kuehl shared. Both Kuehl and his successor, Kennedy Folkedahl, share a passion for education and a dedication to lifelong learning—qualities that brought them together and built a strong foundation for this transition. "Lanny has cultivated relationships with some amazing individuals and families over his career. I am excited to meet them, hear their story, and help them navigate their financial future moving forward," Folkedahl said. Folkedahl returns to Northeast Iowa after seven years in Des Moines, where he gained experience in wealth strategies, insurance, and tax reduction strategy among experienced professionals in the Midwest. Now back in his hometown of Decorah, he continues his family's long-standing legacy of entrepreneurship and community involvement. "These communities are built and carried on the backs of hardworking, community-focused men and women. I've witnessed it firsthand growing up, and I am thrilled to come back and continue that service and support to Northeast Iowa," Folkedahl added. Longtime assistant Sandra Williams, who has worked alongside Kuehl for more than a decade, will continue supporting clients in her current role with Folkedahl.
