DECORAH, OSSIAN, & CRESCO, Iowa — Several area students recently earned college degrees this spring, representing a range of academic fields and institutions across the Midwest. Decorah graduate Brayden Krivachek and Ossian native Marin Ehler were among more than 400 students who earned graduate degrees from Des Moines University in West Des Moines during its 125th commencement ceremony on May 30. Krivachek earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, while Ehler completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy, graduating with distinction. Des Moines University specializes in graduate-level medical and health sciences education and consistently posts strong national exam and residency match results. Cassie Wyatt, of Decorah, earned a Bachelor of Arts in kinesiology from Coe College in Cedar Rapids. She was one of more than 200 graduates recognized at the college's commencement ceremony in May. Wyatt and her fellow graduates were commended for their academic, athletic and artistic achievements, as well as their involvement in internships and community service. From nearby Cresco, Landen Bergan graduated from Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Bergan completed the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration program and was among 969 students to receive an associate degree or technical diploma in the 2024–2025 academic year. Abby Halverson, of Decorah, was among 249 graduates honored during Central College's commencement on May 10 in Pella. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. Central College is a private liberal arts institution known for its academic rigor and strong NCAA Division III athletics program. Feed your curiosity!
