NORTHEAST IOWA — Twenty Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) student-athletes were recently named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Academic All-Region teams. To qualify, student-athletes must have achieved a 3.5–4.0 grade point average for First Team honors or a 3.0–3.49 GPA for Second Team recognition. Cougar esports and sports shooting team members recognized include: First Team Brendon Arndorfer – Sports shooting Mason Caldwell – Esports Ryan Cogil – Sports shooting Lane Folstad – Esports Brett Graney – Esports Holden Hockerman – Sports shooting Keith Horton – Esports Colby Kempke – Sports shooting Tristan Lewison – Sports shooting Gavin Mihalakis-Hanson – Esports Eric Mohr – Sports shooting Taylor Reinhardt – Sports shooting Joel Schneider – Sports shooting Colton Tollefsrud – Sports shooting Makenzie Wiest – Sports shooting Second Team Hunter Fosdal – Esports Dakota Hamann – Esports Colton Hruska – Sports shooting Jamarious Lucius – Esports Christopher Turnis – Esports "I regularly talk with my students about the importance of succeeding in their coursework and how it impacts their future," Head Esports Coach Verrick Foust said. "Seeing so many NICC students named to Academic All-Region Teams is truly amazing and highlights a core value of our program." "One of the goals for our student-athletes of the sports shooting team is to be successful in the classroom as well as on the range," Head Sports Shooting Coach Anthony Sisneros said. "To have 11 student-athletes, 10 first team and one second team, making the ICCAC Academic All-Region list for the Spring 2025 semester shows that we are accomplishing our goals on and off the range."
