DECORAH — The Friends of the Decorah Fish Hatchery invite community members of all ages to take part in the June Goosechase, a scavenger hunt-style event held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 21, at the Chuck Gipp Decorah Fish Hatchery. Using a free, web-based app, teams will complete fun and competitive missions in and around the hatchery. Designed to be enjoyed by all ages, the Goosechase is a great opportunity for families and friends to spend time outdoors. Snacks and giveaways will be provided. The June Goosechase is part of a new series of monthly summer events at the hatchery. Each event will feature fresh missions, challenges, and adventures. Participants may be asked to take and upload photos or videos, answer trivia questions, or map a location using GPS. Example missions include snapping a photo of a "best fish face," sculpting with natural materials, answering trout trivia, or filming a "big catch." Completed entries are shared on a live stream viewable by all teams. Goosechase events will be held one Saturday per month from 10 a.m. to noon. Upcoming dates include July 19, Aug. 23 and Sept. 13. In addition, the hatchery will host the Trout Run Watershed Kick-Off Party from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23. This family-friendly event will include tours, educational booths, the MooMobile and more.
