DECORAH — Pulpit Rock Brewing Company will host its third annual Dreaming of Fields Day on Saturday, June 28, beginning at noon. The event highlights the brewery's Dreaming of Fields Project, launched in 2019 to support local farmers, promote land stewardship, and encourage market development for small grain production in Northeast Iowa. The event will feature live music by The Grass Run Band, soil regeneration information, educational displays, hands-on activities and three specialty beers brewed for the occasion: Honest Work, a premium corn lager Upper Iowa Common, a Kentucky Common-style ale New Day, an agrarian ale All beers include grains grown locally, including corn from FLOLO Farm near West Union and a heritage variety of Ukrainian wheat. The event is free and open to the public. Food will be available for purchase from Justin's, including "Pete-rites"—loose meat sandwiches made with Luna Valley Farm beef and steamed in Pulpit Rock beer. Supporting partners include Northeast Iowa RC&D, The Landing Market—also celebrating its five-year anniversary that day—and the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce's Agriculture Committee. Sponsors include Iowa's Coldwater Conservancy, Winneshiek Soil and Water Conservation District, and Trout Unlimited's Driftless Area Restoration Effort (TUDARE). Pulpit Rock Brewing, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in August, is a Decorah-based destination brewery known for its craft beer collaborations and locally sourced ingredients.
