John & Pam Anderson Named 2025 Winneshiek County 4-H Hall of Fame Recipients

DECORAH — John and Pam Anderson were honored with the Winneshiek County 4-H Hall of Fame award during the 2025 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction on Saturday, July 12, at the Winneshiek County Fair. The couple will be inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame on the final day of the Iowa State Fair. The Andersons' involvement in 4-H began in their youth, when both participated in local clubs, showed livestock and completed a variety of projects. That early foundation led to decades of service, as they supported their four children through 25 years in the program. Pam encouraged her children to explore a wide range of project areas and build their knowledge through hands-on learning. Together, she and John helped host club meetings, coordinated events and mentored younger members. John expanded his service by joining the Winneshiek County Extension Council from 2005 to 2012 and serving on the Youth Development Committee from 2007 to 2012. In those roles, he helped guide local programming and advocate for youth development initiatives across the county. The Andersons also support the Winneshiek County Endowment Board, working to ensure the financial sustainability of local 4-H efforts. John has volunteered for many years as an auctioneer and ring helper at the 4-H/FFA Livestock Auction—a role that combines his agricultural background with his passion for youth. Whether serving as a fair volunteer, lending a hand wherever needed, or supporting youth through fundraising and advocacy, the Andersons have consistently gone above and beyond.
