Iowa Airstream Club to Host August 2025 Rally in Spillville for the First Time Ever

SPILLVILLE, Iowa —Shiny aluminum trailers will roll into town as the Iowa Airstream Club hosts its August 2025 Rally at Riverside Park in Spillville, the club's first rally in the area in decades. Scheduled for the weekend of August 8–9, 2025, the rally will bring dozens of Airstream enthusiasts from across the state to explore the scenic region, enjoy local culture, and connect with fellow travelers. Organized by Rally Host Dennis Chapman, the event is part of the Iowa Airstream Club's monthly summer rally series, typically held at sites across Iowa during the warm-weather months. Activities for rally participants include tours of the Bily Clocks and Antonín Dvořák Museum in Spillville and the Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, as well as lunch and a tour at Toppling Goliath Brewery. The highlight of Saturday evening will be a potluck meal at Riverside Park's Shelter House Two, with smoked pork provided by mayor Paul Wermers. Founded 70 years ago by Wally Byam, Airstream Club International (ACI)—formerly the Wally Byam Caravan Club International—has a long tradition of community and exploration. Byam himself led international caravans of Airstreamers across North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The Iowa Airstream Club carries on that legacy through its rallies and gatherings, where members frequently share meals, stories, and their love of the road. Visitors to the area during the rally are welcome to stop by Riverside Park to view the vintage and modern Airstream trailers—some dating as far back as the 1960s—and chat with club members, who are always happy to talk about their travels and rigs.
