Pint Night to Focus on Maximizing Row Crop Profits

DECORAH — Area landowners and farmers are invited to attend "Pint Night: Maximize Row Crop Profits" on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at the Pulpit Rock Brewery event room, 207 College Drive, Decorah. The event will feature a panel of experts sharing strategies to improve farm profitability while promoting conservation and wildlife habitat. The event will begin with registration and light appetizers from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m., followed by presentations starting promptly at 5:45 p.m. The presenters and topics are: Gregg Pattison, private lands biologist, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: Partners for fish and wildlife Janet Borchardt, Farm Bill biologist, Pheasants Forever: precision agriculture Bailey Klein, precision ag and conservation specialist, Pheasants Forever: precision agriculture Brian Sauer, private lands technician, Iowa DNR Wildlife Bureau: tips for a successful prairie Jordan Koos, conservationist, Winneshiek County: federal programs for landowners Mia Doty, IDALS summer intern: rain gardens Kent Kleckner, Winneshiek County Pheasants Forever: equipment and contractors Attendees will learn how to identify marginal acres that may not be producing at maximum potential and how to analyze them for improved profitability. Presenters will also share practical approaches for reducing soil erosion, protecting water quality and enhancing wildlife habitat.
