Rainy Conditions Don't Stop Winneshiek Raceway Track Champions

DECORAH — Despite a soggy start to the week, Winneshiek Raceway capped off another stretch of racing as drivers and crews navigated the elements, ultimately and celebrating in the Wiebke Fur & Trading–Eitzen Victory Lane, fueled by Toppling Goliath. After nearly two inches of rain fell on Aug. 16, officials worked tirelessly to bring the track back into shape. By mid-afternoon, crews confirmed the surface was ready, and the green flag flew on another memorable night of racing. The action-packed night ended with a number of drivers celebrating. In the JMN Land Management USRA B-Mods, Decorah's Dan Hovden improved to sixth to score the A Feature victory, holding off Caledonia's Taylor Skauge and Fort Atkinson's Dale Schwamman. With his eighth feature win of the season, Hovden also secured the 2025 track championship with 1,025 points. The Torkelson Motors USRA Hobby Stocks saw Decorah's Steve Larson take home a win the finale, with Joshua Ludeking and Paul Seabrooke close behind. Despite finishing runner-up in the feature, Ludeking's consistency all season paid off as he claimed the Hobby Stock championship with four wins and 1,045 points. In Wicks Construction USRA Stock Car action, Decorah's Kevin Donlan topped the A Feature over Mitch Hovden and Brady Link. The season title, however, went to Mitch Hovden, who tallied five feature wins and 963 points to Donlon in the standings. The Boone's Snow Removal USRA Tuners wrapped up their season with Calmar's Dalton Fels earning the feature win ahead of Postville's Jeremy Hills. Hills, who posted two wins and finished runner-up on Saturday, clinched the 2025 Tuners championship with 838 points. In the Crawford Lawn Maintenance EcoMods, New Hampton's Braiden Schaufenbuel powered from eighth to victory in the finale, capping a standout season where he earned five wins and the EcoMod championship with 914 points.
