DECORAH — Minnesota author William Kent Krueger will visit Decorah on Saturday, Sept. 6, for an author presentation, Q&A session and book signing. The free event begins at 11 a.m. at the Carrie Lee Elementary Auditorium, 210 Vernon St. The program is sponsored by the Oneota Valley Literary Foundation with support from Carrie Lee Elementary and Dragonfly Books. Krueger is best known for his New York Times bestselling Cork O'Connor mystery series, set in the north woods of Minnesota and praised for its suspense and strong sense of place. He is also the author of several award-winning stand-alone novels, including "Ordinary Grace," which won the Edgar Award for best novel, and "This Tender Land," which spent nearly six months on the New York Times bestseller list. His most recent book, "The River We Remember," was published in 2023 and earned national recognition. Over his career, Krueger has received the Minnesota Book Award, the Loft-McKnight Fiction Award, the Anthony Award, the Barry Award, the Dilys Award and the Friends of American Writers Prize. This event is part of Dragonfly Books and the Oneota Valley Literary Foundation's ongoing author series, which brings nationally recognized writers to Northeast Iowa for conversations about literature and writing.
