DES MOINES — The Iowa State Fair took place August 7th–17th in Des Moines, Iowa, highlighting youth creativity and skill across a wide range of projects. Winneshiek County 4-H members dedicated countless hours preparing their exhibits, communication events, and Awardrobe outfits, and their hard work was on full display. Emma McFarlane received an award from the Iowa Department of Ag and Land Stewardship for her Conservation, Environment, and Sustainability exhibit. Karmyn Bakken received the Professional Photographers of Iowa Gallery Award for her Photography exhibit. Jadrienne Langreck received a scholarship from the Iowa State University College of Ag and Life Sciences for her Veterinary Science exhibit. Caylie Adam and Ruby Timp received an Outstanding Award/Judge's Choice for their Leadership exhibit. Karmyn Bakken received an Outstanding Award/Judge's Choice for her Self-Determined exhibit.
