Luther College Woman's Club Holds First Meeting of 2025-26 Academic Year

DECORAH — For more than 150 years, Norwegian American women have contributed time, energy and talent to organizations at Luther College and within the wider Decorah community while reshaping the educational landscape. The Luther College Woman's Club will highlight these women and their achievements at its next meeting at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, on the Luther College campus. The meeting will begin at the Dahl Centennial Union Art Gallery, where Luther students Iris Roddy and Lauren Conner-Dieter will lead a guided tour of the exhibit they designed and researched, An Assembly of the Silly Fair Ones: Norwegian-American Women's Educational Opportunities and Community Support Organizations in the Decorah Region. They will be joined by their project advisors, Destiny Crider, instructor in museum studies, and Hayley Jackson, college archivist. Following the tour, the meeting will continue in the Peace Dining Room. Attendees are asked to contribute $6 toward refreshments. The Luther College Woman's Club has long baked treats for students, with proceeds funding scholarships. To date, the club has raised more than $325,000.
