Decorah Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Seizure Exceeding 150 Grams

DECORAH — On late Saturday night, October 4, The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office received a driving complaint about a vehicle that was driving at variable speeds and crossing the center line. A short time later, a deputy located the vehicle driving on Locust Road and observed the vehicle crossing the center line. A traffic stop was conducted at Locust Road and Middle Hesper Road. Subsequently, the driver, Marissa Kelty, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for Class D Felony OWI 3rd/or subsequent offense. A search warrant was obtained and conducted on the vehicle that Marissa Kelty was driving. Deputies located and seized over 150 grams of Methamphetamine. Additional narcotics were seized and yet to be identified. Also, it was discovered during the search warrant that Kelty's intoxalock was not operational. Following the investigation, Kelty was additionally charged with the following offenses: Class B felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine (more than five grams) Class D felony failure to affix a drug tax stamp (more than seven grams) Class D felony possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense (methamphetamine) Class D felony possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense (clonazepam) Simple misdemeanor violation of conditions of restricted license Kelty remains in custody at the Winneshiek County Jail pending court proceedings. On Monday, Oct. 6, at 1:52 p.m., while still incarcerated at the Winneshiek County Jail, Kelty was served with two additional arrest warrants for violation of probation, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
