Decorah Basketball Association Opens Registration for 2025-26 Season

DECORAH — The Decorah Basketball Association (DBA) has opened registration for the 2025-26 season, inviting local youth to sign up and participate in the community's basketball program. Registration is open through Oct. 13, with a $20 late fee applied to entries received after the deadline. Players can register online through the DBA registration portal, accessible at www.decorahbasketball.com. New families will need to create an account, while returning families can log in using their existing usernames and passwords. The DBA expressed appreciation for its ongoing partnership with the Decorah Community School District, which provides access to local gym facilities for practices and games. Practices for 7th and 8th grade boys will begin the week of Oct. 21, while all other grade levels will start in November. Teams will practice one to three times per week, depending on age level, at John Cline Elementary, Carrie Lee Elementary, Decorah Middle School, Decorah High School, or The Barn. Practice schedules for the pre-holiday season will be posted on the DBA website by Nov. 4, with post-holiday schedules released in mid-December. Tournament schedules will also be available online after Nov. 8. The locations of South Winneshiek league games for 4th through 6th graders are expected to be announced in mid-December. Players are required to wear a DBA jersey and royal blue shorts. Uniforms from last season may be reused, or new ones may be ordered through a form available on the DBA website. Uniform fees are not included in the registration cost. Players should also bring their own size 28.5 basketball, water bottle and clean court shoes to each practice. The DBA thanked all volunteer coaches, noting their commitment to providing a fun, educational, and competitive environment for local basketball players with support from the Decorah High School coaching staff.
