21-Year-Old Charged with Marijuana-Related Offenses After Search in Spillville

Following a lengthy investigation by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, on October 19, 2025, around 1:33 pm the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 328 S Main Street in Spillville. As a result of this search warrant Kobe Detra (21) of Spillville was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail. According to the official criminal complaint obtained by DecorahNews.com, the warrant occured as the result of the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office receiving information indicating that Detra was using and distributing marijuana, a Schedule I controlled substance. Following the report, law enforcement conducted an investigation that led to a search warrant being granted for Detra and his residence in Winneshiek County. During the search, during which officers discovered Detra in possession of 85 grams of marijuana bud—exceeding the 42.5-gram tax stamp threshold—along with several vape cartridges and other drug paraphernalia. Detra was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail. According to the complaint, he admitted to using marijuana but denied selling it. Kobe Detra was charged with: 1. Serious Misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance (Marijuana) 1st offense The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office.
