Decorah Gear Exchange Raises $2,500 for Decorah Parks and Recreation

DECORAH — The 4th annual Decorah Gear Exchange, held Sept. 27–28 at Pulpit Rock Brewing Co., brought together outdoor enthusiasts, families and bargain hunters for a weekend of community connection and sustainability while raising $2,500 for Decorah Parks and Recreation. Established in 2022, the annual fall event helps individuals buy and sell gently used or new outdoor recreation items through a two-day consignment sale. When items sell, 20% of the proceeds are donated to Decorah Parks and Recreation to support local recreational programs and resources. The event is organized by The Getup, Decorah Hatchery, Driftless Outdoors, Visit Decorah and Decorah Parks and Recreation. From bikes and kayaks to hiking boots and camping gear, the exchange celebrated Decorah's love of outdoor adventure and helped make recreation more accessible. "We're thrilled to see the Decorah Gear Exchange grow each year," said Lisa Lantz, owner of The Getup. "It's a win for sustainability, a win for our parks, and a great reflection of the community spirit that makes Decorah special."
