Happy Monday! Welcome to Monday High-Five -- your quick preview to what's happening around Decorah this week. Holiday Reminder: Trash collection will be happening Wednesday, Nov. 26, for those with regular Thursday pickup. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at DecorahNews.com! We are thankful for you. Here are some other things to keep in mind this week: 1. Hook & Loop Club - Nov. 25Every Tuesday from 3:15–4:15 p.m., the Decorah Public Library hosts its Hook & Loop Club, an after-school gathering for knitting and crocheting. This welcoming group is led by a local RSVP volunteer who helps participants hone their skills in a relaxed, creative space. 2. Little Free Pantry Fundraiser at The Landing - Nov. 2920% of all sales from The Landing vendors (Justin's, The Buzz, Tandem, Root 43, and Twisted Gnome) will be donated to the Little Free Pantry at Luther College. This pantry is entirely donation-based and self-sustaining where people can "take what they need and give what they can." 3. Turkey Trot: Nov. 27-30Walk or run either a 5K or 1-mile loop on the Decorah Community Prairie, hosted by Decorah Parks and Rec. The route is open during a multi-day window around Thanksgiving, and participants can even send in a photo of themselves completing the course for a chance to win prizes. 4. Stories of Washington Prairie - Nov. 24The Decorah Genealogy Association is presenting a program titled "Stories of Washington Prairie, The Yankees: Part 2." Deepen your understanding of Decorah's roots through diverse storytelling. 5. Holiday Lights Walk-Through Night - Nov. 26Hosted by Helping Services for Youth & Families, attendees can stroll through dazzling light displays (before the site opens for drive-through only), enjoy free soup, hot chocolate, cookies, and listen to local choirs. There will also be a visit from Santa.
