DECORAH —Twin Springs Supper Club marked its fifth anniversary Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce, a milestone the restaurant never got to celebrate when it first opened during the pandemic. Owner Roumel Reynon, known for his upbeat, conversational approach to fine dining, welcomed guests, chamber members and longtime customers to the mid-afternoon event. Reynon didn't dwell on formal remarks but made it clear how much the community and his staff have meant over the past five years. He spoke about opening the restaurant in late 2020 after years managing and developing restaurants in Chicago, and how the move to Decorah became possible with help from family, a local realtor and early hires who turned the old building into a functioning kitchen and full dining room in a matter of weeks. Chamber representatives noted that opening in 2020 placed Twin Springs among the businesses that took on unusual challenges but still became a local fixture. They highlighted that about half of the restaurant's summer customers are visitors, which reflects the strength of the food and the overall experience. Reynon told the crowd that each year has steadily outperformed the last, a success he credited to word-of-mouth support and a staff that has largely stayed with him since the first year. He called the continued growth "really unheard of" in the industry and thanked customers who send guests to the gravel-road location despite its out-of-the-way setting. "You may not think you're going to a restaurant," Reynon joked about Twin Springs' location, "you might think you're going to some bar in the middle of a farm field … but you're actually going to a unique place that speaks for itself."
