Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office Reports Five Arrests From Jan. 17–20

On Jan. 17, 2026, CARL JOHNSON, 26, of Waukon, was arrested near the intersection of Pole Line Road and 270th Avenue and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on a charge of aggravated misdemeanor driving while barred. The arrest came after the Sheriff's office received a concerning call about a subject driving someone else's car. The car and driver were located near the intersection of Pole Line Road and 290th Street. A traffic stop was initiated at Pole Line Road and 270th Ave. The driver, Carl Johnson was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for Aggravated Misdemeanor Driving While Barred. On Jan. 18, 2026, KOREY NUMEDAHL, 34, of Protivin, was arrested near 3200 County Road B16 in Spillville and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on a charge of driving while license suspended following a report of suspicious activity. On Jan. 18, 2026, STACE LESSER, 21, of Decorah, was arrested at Winn Med in Decorah and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on a charge of felony assault on medical staff. On Jan. 17, 2026, PAIGE JOHANNINGMEIER, 30, of Decorah, turned herself in at the Winneshiek County Jail and was booked on an arrest warrant for failure to serve jail time. On Jan. 20, 2026, LEAH BURNS, 44, of Cresco, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on an arrest warrant for violation of probation. Discover what's happening near you!
