Wartburg Students Bring Home 41 Awards from Iowa College Media Association

WAVERLY, Iowa — Caleb Kammerer was one of 17 Wartburg College students and recent graduates recently recognized for their work with student media at the Iowa College Media Association Awards. Kammerer, of Cresco, received second place for best show (entertainment). He also received honorable mentions for best print/online sports reporting and best sports program. In all, the students brought home 41 awards for work in print, video and audio. In addition to individual achievements, KWAR, the college's student-run radio station, received its third straight overall audio excellence award. The staff of Knight Vision, the college's livestream network, received first- and second-place awards for best news programming and third place for best newscast. The KWAR and Knight Vision staffs also received first place for best newscast for KV Sports. The Wartburg Trumpet is the student newspaper for Wartburg College and can be read at thewartburgtrumpet.com. Knight Vision News is a live, student-run newscast that airs once a week. Episodes can be viewed live on Knight Vision streaming or archived on the Trumpet website. KWAR is the student-run radio station for Wartburg College.
