Two Arrested Following Search Warrant Execution in Decorah

DECORAH — Two people were arrested April 2 following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Cedar Valley Road, according to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office. Deputies executed the warrant at 2458 Cedar Valley Road as part of an ongoing investigation. JACOB GOSSAGE, 29, was arrested at the scene and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail. According to the official criminal complaints obtained by DecorahNews.com, separate apartments were searched as part of the investigation. In Apartment 2, authorities reported to locating glass smoking devices and a green leafy substance with an odor consistent with marijuana. A portion of the substance field-tested positive for THC, and the total weight exceeded 42.5 grams, according to a criminal complaint. Gossage faces charges of failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a Class D felony; possession of a controlled substance, second offense, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Court records indicate Gossage has a prior conviction for possession of a controlled substance in Winneshiek County in 2024. In Apartment 1, deputies reported finding a bong, multiple THC vape devices and a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana. A portion of the substance also field-tested positive for THC. A short time later, CURTIS WILKINS, 26, who resides at the address, arrived at the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office to speak with a deputy. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail. Wilkins is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
