CALMAR, Iowa — Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) announced that President Dave Dahms has accepted the Board of Trustees' invitation to extend his contract through 2028. During the April 22 Board of Trustees meeting, the board unanimously voted to extend Dahms' contract, citing his strong leadership and the significant progress made during his tenure. His guidance has advanced the college's strategic priorities, strengthened partnerships across the northeast Iowa district and positioned NICC for continued growth and impact. "Dave has demonstrated extraordinary leadership both within the college and throughout the communities we serve," the board noted. "Through a collaborative and inclusive approach, he has strengthened relationships with faculty and staff, engaged effectively with state leaders, business and industry partners, and regional four-year institutions, reinforcing the college's role in workforce and community development and positioning NICC for continued success." Board President Jim Anderson said the decision reflects the board's confidence in Dahms' leadership and the direction of the college. "Dave leads with integrity and vision," Anderson said.
