WinnMed Hospice Memorial Ride Set for June 14

DECORAH — The annual WinnMed Hospice Memorial Ride will take place Sunday, June 14, beginning at the WinnMed campus in Decorah. The event will be held rain or shine and is open to the public. The day begins with a freewill donation breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. in the WinnMed cafeteria. Parking will be available in Lot F. Organizers said the breakfast is open to the public, regardless of participation in the ride. Following breakfast, all vehicles are welcome to participate in the poker run. The entry fee is $20 per vehicle. Registration and sign-in will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at WinnMed during the breakfast. Motorcycles and cars will depart at 11 a.m. for a scenic tour through northeast Iowa. The ride will conclude at approximately 4:30 p.m. at PIVO Brewery in Calmar, where participants can take part in a silent auction, door prizes and refreshments. Proceeds from the 2026 Hospice Memorial Ride will support updates to the WinnMed Hospice patient room located on the medical-surgical unit. The room is designated for hospice patients needing acute symptom management or respite care and includes a home-like setting with additional seating and bedroom furniture. Medical-surgical staff work closely with WinnMed Hospice staff to provide care and support for patients and their families. "We are excited to offer a more updated and cheerful atmosphere in our hospice space within the inpatient unit at WinnMed," said Nancy Haberichter, director of WinnMed Hospice. "This will be an area where families can feel more comfortable visiting and staying with loved ones. We hope to enhance the home-like experience for patients and families." WinnMed Hospice provides end-of-life care focused on comfort, compassion and quality of life. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to patients and families in Allamakee, Clayton, Chickasaw, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek counties. "The Hospice Memorial Ride is a time-honored tradition for WinnMed Hospice and is well supported by the communities we serve," Haberichter said. "We are grateful for the individuals and businesses who have endorsed the ride in the past and helped us support hospice patients in new and innovative ways through funds raised."
