Northeast Iowa Community College Honors Employer Partners at Second Annual Awards Event

CALMAR, Iowa — Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) celebrated the contributions of six local employer partners during its second annual "Partners in Excellence" awards ceremony held May 28 at the Wilder Business Center on the Calmar campus. The event recognized organizations for their support of student success through scholarship creation, internships, program advisory leadership and career development initiatives. The "Partners in Excellence" event highlights the link between the college and regional industries. These partnerships help ensure academic programs remain aligned with workforce demands while providing students with mentorship and job placement opportunities. Holland Construction Wright Way Computers "Speaking not only as a leader at Emplify Health but also as an alum, I want to thank NICC for the incredible impact you have had in our communities," said Emplify Health Administrator Patrice Kuennen, RN, MSN, FAB. "Your work helps ensure people can earn a degree close to home, enter the workforce and remain rural, strengthening both our communities and our future." The evening began with a networking reception, followed by the formal awards ceremony presented by Dave Dahms, president; Amy Lasack, vice president of business and community solutions; Sarah Carlson, dean of nursing; Amy Green, director of sales and training; and Anna Berns, executive director of advancement. "Your impact extends beyond scholarships and traditional academic programs," Dahms said. "Through continuing education, customized training and short-term workforce programs, we are helping individuals build skills, advance careers and meet the changing needs of industry across our region."
