4th Annual Dreaming of Fields Event Celebrates Soil Health, Farming, Community

DECORAH — The fourth annual Dreaming of Fields event will be held June 27 at Pulpit Rock Brewing Company in Decorah, bringing together farmers, landowners, conservation professionals and community members focused on soil health and sustainable agriculture. The free public event begins at noon and will feature farmer presentations, live music, food specials from Justin's at The Landing Market and opportunities to connect with organizations working on soil health, water quality and resilient agriculture in Northeast Iowa. "The Dreaming of Fields project is one we are proud to continue," Pulpit Rock Brewing General Manager Scott Nading said. "Our team looks forward to sharing beers and spirits that feature locally sourced grains and ingredients. This year, we will release the latest Aquavit blend at the event." Luther College students and staff involved with Northeast Iowa RC&D's Regenerating Soil & Community initiative will also be on hand to discuss soil health and the connection between land use, water quality and human health. The event is hosted by Pulpit Rock Brewing Company in partnership with Northeast Iowa RC&D, the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce and The Landing Market. Sponsorship support is provided by Trout Unlimited Driftless Area Restoration Effort, Iowa's Coldwater Conservancy and the Winneshiek Soil & Water Conservation District. Organizers said the event highlights the connection between agriculture, land stewardship and the local economy, emphasizing the role of resilient agricultural landscapes in supporting farmers, water quality, flood management and small businesses.
