City of Decorah Seeks Proposals for Contract Building Inspection Services

DECORAH — The City of Decorah is seeking proposals from qualified firms and individuals to provide contract building inspection services for construction projects within the city. According to a request for proposals released Wednesday, the selected contractor will provide services related to new construction, additions, remodeling projects and other building permit activities. Responsibilities include reviewing building plans, conducting inspections, evaluating code compliance and providing other construction oversight services. The city is seeking applicants with experience in residential and commercial building inspections and knowledge of applicable building codes and standards. The contractor selected through the request for proposals process will enter into a professional services agreement with the city. Questions about the request for proposals must be submitted by 4 p.m. Friday, June 26. Proposals are due by 4 p.m. Monday, July 6. Late submissions may not be considered. The city reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities and award a contract in the city's best interest.
