Three Recent Arrests Include OWI Crash, Protective Order Warrants and Public Intoxication

DECORAH — The following arrests were reported by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office on June 17, 2026. According to the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Quarry Hill Road at about 11:22 p.m. June 12 and identified the driver as CHRISTIAN KRAMBEER, 25, of Decorah. According to the official criminal complaint obtained by DecorahNews.com, the deputy responding to the crash observed physical signs of impairment and the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Krambeer also reportedly showed signs of impairment during field sobriety testing, admitted to consuming alcohol and registered above the legal limit on a preliminary breath test. Krambeer was arrested and charged with second-offense operating while under the influence, an aggravated misdemeanor. On Wednesday, June 17, Krambeer was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on an arrest warrant for Violation of Pre-trial Supervision. On June 17, STEVEN JOHNSON, 52, of Elkader, Iowa, was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail on two arrest warrants for Violation Of No Contact/Protective Order-Contempt. On June 12, deputies responded at about 11:04 p.m. to a report of a man walking on Locust Road. The man was identified as JOSEPH WATHIER, 30, of Decorah, who had been in an altercation in Fillmore County. Subsequently, Wathier was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for simple misdemeanor public intoxication. According to a criminal complaint obtained by DecorahNews.com, Wathier had been involved in an altercation in Fillmore County, Minnesota, after family members reportedly refused to let him drive because they believed he had been drinking. According to the complaint, a family member agreed to drive Wathier back to Decorah, but Wathier exited the moving vehicle during the trip, sustaining minor injuries. When deputies contacted Wathier, they observed signs of intoxication, and he allegedly admitted to consuming "[two] alcoholic beverages." Fresh stories, delivered!
