Northeast Iowa Community College to Host 2026 Tri-State Emergency Responders Conference in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa — Northeast Iowa Community College will host the 16th annual Tri-State Emergency Responders Conference this fall, bringing national presenters to deliver educational opportunities close to home. The two-day event is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15, and Friday, Oct. 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. both days. Friday attendees will also have access to a free exhibit hall highlighting the latest industry equipment. Designed for prehospital providers, including emergency medical responder, emergency medical technician, advanced emergency medical technician and paramedic levels, as well as emergency department and critical care nursing professionals, the conference offers advanced training focused on clinical topics and emergency procedures. Attendees can earn up to 16 continuing education hours, or CEHs, or continuing education units, or CEUs, across specialized tracks, including trauma, medical, cardiac and airway management, and operations. Attendees must be present for the entire morning or afternoon session to receive credit. "If you sit in your silo, you will not learn anything other than what you already know — you've got to get out of those silos. Doing education together is for the betterment of the patient," said Deb Von Seggern, University of Nebraska Medical Center EMS coordinator and conference speaker.
