WinnMed Chief Nursing Officer Kathy Moritz Announces Retirement

DECORAH — WinnMed announced at the September Board meeting that Chief Nursing Officer Kathy Moritz will retire on November 25, 2026, concluding a distinguished 36-year nursing career and nearly nine years of service as the organization's Chief Nursing Officer. Since joining WinnMed's leadership team, Kathy has played a vital role in advancing patient care, supporting nursing excellence, and strengthening healthcare services for the communities WinnMed serves. Her leadership has helped guide the organization through periods of growth and change while maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality, safety, and compassionate care. "Kathy's impact on WinnMed goes far beyond her years of service," says Steve Slessor, Chief Administrative Officer. "Her down-to-earth personality, positive attitude, and authentic leadership style have made her a trusted mentor, respected leader, and a joy to work with. We are grateful for all she has contributed and wish her the very best in this next chapter."
